Visit a place where time seems to stands still, Pasir Salak is a little village beside a slow river where every wooden house is beautifully decorated with intricate traditional designs spotting nature inspired motifs. It is well known for its ancient Malay architecture and craft.
It is here too, that stands the memorial dedicated to the historical event which led to the murder of the first British Resident in Perak, J.W.W. Birch by the late Maharaja Lela, Dato' Sagor and Si Putum.
Within this complex is also two "Kutai Houses" (Perak traditional houses ). These houses were set up to display various local, historical and Malay culture and artifacts.
